As reported by the Pakistani state media, Iran proved too good for an ever-struggling Pakistani side with a rousing display of aggressive volleyball to underscore 25-11,25-11 and 25-18 win.

Pakistani side could not do much against a strong opposition which excelled in all departments of the game with coordination and collective team efforts.

In the other matches, India defeated Japan 3-1, South Korea fashioned out 3-1 win over China and Thailand made short work of Chinese Taipei by 3-1.

Pakistan will now face their arch rivals India in the next match while Iran will take on Japan, South Korea to compete against Sri Lanka and China will take on Australia.
