South Whites, Greens, East Greens winners NBP Basketball opening day

KARACHI: Karachi South Whites and Greens and Karachi East Greens won their opening matches in the NBP Inter District Basketball Tournament at Arambagh Floodlights courts on Wednesday evening.

Zain-ul-Abedin scored a dozen points to lead Karachi South Greens to 34-30 win over District Malir. Ali Raza top-scored with 15 points but couldn’t help finishing on the losing side.

Karachi South Greens beat Karachi West Whites 35-22. Muhammad Umar (10), asghar (9) and Shabbir Ahmed (7) were their main scorers. Arif Khan contributed 12 points but that failed to save his team from defeat.

In third match, Karachi West Greens outplayed Karachi Central Whites 29-14. Saifullah led his team to victory with 12 points.
