US President Obama to host Dallas Mavericks

WASHINGTON: American president Barack Obama will honor the NBA 2011 Champions Dallas Mavericks next week as part of the White House practice to host NBA champions every year.

The announcement in this regard was made by the White House in a press release issued here Wednesday.

As per the press statement, President Obama will welcome the team Monday at the White House to also honor them for their support of the troops and military families, in accordance with his tradition of honoring sports teams for their achievements on and off the playing field.

The event is scheduled to take place at noon while details are soon to follow.
