World Youth Scrabble Championship: 11-man Pakistan team off to Malaysia
KARACHI: 11 players of Pakistan Scrabble Association (PSA) from youth left for Malaysia on Sunday to take part in the 6th World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC).
The 6th World Youth Scrabble Championship will be played in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from December 6-8, 2011.
It will be the second appearance of Pakistani players at such an international youth championship after showing the admirable results in the 2010 edition where Pakistan finished at 8th position and received highest scorer award.
The 11 youth players and eight adults including Pakistan’s No. 1 Waseem Khatri will take part in another mega event “Causeway Challenge’ which is being played at the same venue during November 30th to December 4th.
The team is chaperoned by the dedicated official Tariq Pervez Director Youth Program, PSA Pakistan’s youth team comprises of the following players: Shahzaib Khatri, Jahanzaib Khan, Inshal Shahbaz, Javeria Salman, Javeria Mirza, Talal Amjad, Minhaj Uddin, Taha Huda, Hamza Sheikh, Asad Merchant, and Yash Gandhi.
“The best filtered players will represent Pakistan to glorify our Nation. Pakistan Scrabble Association has always supported its players in order to make them capable to represent in national and international event. We have made ready the Inter-School Championship ready for such Youth Celebrities sent abroad, which will be organised as soon as they came back.
