Pakistani boxers to feature in Combat Games
KARACHI: Top five Pakistani boxers will feature in Sports accord Combat Games to be held in Beijing, China from August 28 to September 4.
Spokesman of Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) told The Sports Encounter on Saturday that International Boxing Association (AIBA) invited our five boxers who have included in the AIBA world ranking and they have sent us there names and now AIBA will bear all the expensive.
“We are so much glad to have our boxers in the world ranking and now they will take part in Combat Games. It would be most beneficial for our boxers they will get good experience for the upcoming Commonwealth and Asian Games”, PBF General Secretary Mohammad Akram Khan told TSE.
Around 80 boxers from all over the world, who are top in the ranking, will take part in the said event and our boxers can learn a lot from this event, PBF official added.
Pakistan team will be comprise of five boxers and two officials. Boxers are Mohib Ullah (49kg), Muhammad Waseem (52kg), Tariq Zia (60kg), Amir Khan (64kg) and Nisar Khan (75kg), Cuban Francisco Hernandez Roldan as Coach along with Iqbal Hussain who appointed as manager.
Pakistani team will leave for China on 26 August from Karachi.
