Indian bookies well-equipped these days
NEW DELHI: Indian bookies are well equipped these days as they are using the latest technologies to run their illegal business of gambling.
Indian bookies used special mobile phones, SIM cards and landlines numbers which are very hard to trace. They used the SIM cards and mobile phones which are only connected to each other and no other person can contact them with their mobile phones.
They used to contact each others with their code names and they hide themselves from the public. It has become very hard to trace these bookies and their punters as they are very cautious.
As British tabloid, News of the World, highlighted the latest scandal of match fixing and spot fixing last month, an Indian newspaper also followed the footpath of NOTW and contacted the betting mafia of India in New Delhi.
The reporter of Indian newspaper disguised himself as better and met some local players in New Delhi. One of the former players took him to the bookie and the better satisfied the bookie that he is genuine gambler and he wants to bet on cricket matches. The bookie briefed him how to work in Indian gambling world.
The bookie gave him a secret mobile phone and SIM card to contact the bookies during the match for betting. The bookie also told him some secret codes to talk on the mobile phone. The bookies used some special landline numbers which cannot be traced easily. These are the special landline phones which they got after paying some fixed amount to the providers and they got facility to make free phone calls for some limited period of time.
The secret mobile phones and SIM cards only dialled one number of same network and mobile phones never received a call from ordinary networks. The secret reporter of Indian newspaper contacted the bookie in first T20 match between Pakistan and England through the mobile phones given to him. The call was received from the other end and he said “Bhayya, line shru kr dijye (Brother, start the line)” and he got the reply from the other end “barish ho rahi hai abhi (it is raining at the moment)”.
The reporter again contacted the bookie when the toss was made and said the same line “Bhayya, line shru kr dijye (Brother, start the line)” and bookie replied him “apni taraf se phone ki awaz band kr k doosri taraf bataie janay wale rates suno (shut the voice of your phone and listen to the rates)”.
The reporter contacted the bookie before the start of first one day international between Pakistan and England but bookie replied him that there was no gambling made on this one day as the whole gambling market was focusing on Champions League started in South Africa.
