Kieswetter takes England to clean sweep against BD
CHITTAGONG: England completed clean sweep against Bangladesh with a 45-run victory Friday as opener Craig Kieswetter hit his lone ODIs century in Chittagong.
Riding on the Kieswetter’s excellent 107-run-innings, England piled up 284 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Tim Bresnan then excelled with the ball as his four wickets restricted Bangladesh to only 239 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
England scored 107 runs from the final 10 overs of their innings to coast to an imposing total on a good pitch to bat on.
Bangladesh were in sight of their first-ever win against England at 162 for four with 16 overs still remaining and batting powerplay in hands. However, umpire came up with a lucky break for the visitors when Shakib Al Hasan was given LBW off Kevin Pietersen when he was looking to take things under his control.
The 3-0 line doesn’t show how well the Bangladesh competed against the second-string English side, but things are certainly getting better for an emerging cricket nation.
