LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) likely to terminate the central contracts of Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif after they have been alleged in match fixing and spot fixing scandal.

International Cricket Council (ICC) suspended Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir on Thursday under the ICC Anti Corruption Code. Under the ICC regulations, no cricket board can contract any player who is suspended or banned by the ICC.

Sources in PCB told The Sports Encounter that PCB will terminate the contracts of these players in near future. British Newspaper News of the World alleged four Pakistani players including test captain Salman Butt, opening bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir and wicket keeper Kamran Akmal of match fixing and spot fixing through their agents Mazhar Majeed in Lord’s Test on last Saturday. However, Kamran Akmal was cleared by the Scotland Yard while the other three players are still investigating by Scotland Yard and ICC Anti Corruption Unit.
