Yuvraj moves to England for lungs treatment
MUMBAI: India’s 31-year-old all rounder Yuvraj Singh has flown to England for precautionary measure for his illness, it is learnt here.
Yuvraj Singh Cancer Diagnosis
Yuvraj Singh was diagnosed with lung tumour in October 2011 and according to the sources close to the family in Delhi, Yuvraj left for England on Saturday. Yuvi has had coughing and bouts of cough for a long time, and to the horror to his fans, was said to have been diagonised with lung cancer. But finally, in October 2011 his third biopsy confirmed that the tumour (a golf-ball sized lump over his left lung) is non-malignant.
“We are waiting for his another biopsy report and he will be seeing an oncologist (Dr. Anderson Nicholan) in London”, the source said. “We await the results of the further tests and don’t know whether he would require to undergo a chemotherapy treatment”, the source added.
Only his closest friends in the 2011 World Cup team were aware of his condition. Yuvraj Singh was a Man of the Tournament. Strangely, Yuvraj’s mother, Shabnam Singh, who has been closest to him, has not accompanied him on this UK trip now.
Yuvraj, who till now was updating the messages, has not tweeted for a few days. His medical expenses may be footed by the BCCI, though he is not being treated for any injury. He is a BCCI-contacted player afterall.
