First KP Open Golf Championship from Friday
PESHAWAR: Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Golf Association (KPGA), Major Arshad Mehmood told reporters at a press conference Tuesday that the 54-hole first Khyber Pakhtunkhwa NBP Open Golf Championship will be played from May 14-16 at the lush green 6666-yard PAF Golf Club.
The Sports Encounter correspondent learnt that the tournament has been renamed from Frontier Open after the NWFP province was renamed as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Overall, this would be the 20th edition of the tournament.
Major Arshad Mehmood said on the occasion that Shahid Javed of Royal Palm would defend his title as all the top golfers of Pakistan are bound to take part in the national ranking tournament.
He further stated that over 200 golfers will participate in 12 categories including professional and amateur and Senior Professional.
