Fouzia gets 7th Place in World Cup Judo 2010 Cairo
KARACHI: A 10-member Pakistan Judo team arrived late Monday from Cairo after participating in the World Cup Judo 2010, sources in the Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) told The Sports Encounter Tuesday.

Pakistan Judo team was participating in the World Cup for the first time ever in which 28 countries fielded their best judo players. Pakistan stood at 17th place in the prominent event.
All the participants gave tough time to their opponents. Ms Fouzia Mumtaz (63kg), who had won Silver medal in the 11th South Asian Games at Dhaka 2010, secured 7th place in the World Cup Judo.
“It is really a landmark that the Federation has achieved, we are fully confident that a little struggle, hard work and dedicated efforts can enable us to achieve better results in international events in the days to come. These types of events are great platforms for the players and help them learn traits of their games and capitalize their experiences”, a PJF official told The Sports Encounter.
PJF is thankful to Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for sponsoring the Judo team in the event and we look forward the same cooperation and assistance in promoting Judo in Pakistan, he said.
The Judo team is fully confident to bring good numbers in their books and will keep the flag of the country high in the future assignments, he stated.
