Hamilton leads title race after Belgian GP win

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS: Lewis Hamilton of McLaren snatched lead from Mark Webber of Red Bull on Sunday when he won the thrilling Belgian Grand Prix here.

Now Hamilton is three points clear of Webber and leading the race to win the accolade as he braved tough weather conditions in Belgium.

The British racer, who has won his third title of the season, told media after his victory, “It was a great weekend and very tough racing”.

The German ended up 15th and out of the points for the third time this year.

Webber, who has won four of the 13 races of the current season, found it hard right at the start as the safety car was deployed twice owing to tough weather conditions at the fickle Spa.

The Aussie racer told media persons, “Lewis deserved the win because he did a good job”.

Robert Kubica of Poland and Renault finished third after he faultered at a pit stop but the performance is good enough to raise his morale.

As per the latest scores, Lewis Hamilton has now 182 points; Webber has 179 points; Vettel follows with 151 points; while Button is at fourth position with 147 points.
