Tampa Bay Lightning, trailing by 3-1 before tonight, needed some inspiration and Martin St Louis took the responsibility to inject spirit in the team as he spoke to the gang before the game in the locker room. Martin didn’t stop at just delivering words but decided to take things done from his stick as he scored two goals to help his side win the game to force Game 6 of the series.

Young star Steven Stamkos told reporters about how inspiring Martin was when he delivered the pregame speech. He said, ”He’s the heart and soul of our team. He’s the first guy to step up and get the guys going. He’s obviously been through every type of experience and every single type of championship you could win, he’s been there. He’s won individual awards. He’s won the Stanley Cup and he’s always been a big part. He knows what to do and how to react in those situations. He stepped up before the game and said a few words, and just the respect he has from every single guy on the team, we take it to heart. … He’s been our go-to guy, and he was again.”

Apart from Martin, Teddy Purcell also scored two goals while veteran goalie Dwayne Roloson weathered the Boston storm and stopped David Krejci to complete a hat trick hence forcing Game 7 in Boston on Friday night.

The Boston Bruins are looking to storm into the NHL Stanley Cup for the first time since 1990 while Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to win the title for second time in seven years.

The winner of the Eastern Conference Finals will face champions of the Western Conference Finals, Vancouver Canucks for the NHL Stanley Cup title.

Martin St Louis told reporters, ”We knew it was going to be a long series as it has come down to one game. Luckily and fortunately, all our team has been through a Game 7. ”Some of us have played more, but we’ve had that experience. So we know what to expect. The fourth win is always the toughest one to get and we know both teams will battle hard to get it.”

Guy Boucher, Tampa Bay coach, had rightly said before the Game 6, “Roloson is the guy that took us here so he’ll be in net for Game 6. He’s going to be the only rested guy in the two teams. It is important to mention here that Roloson has responded well to breaks this season.”

He was damn right as Roloson, who didn’t play in Game 5, also gave up a pair of first-period goals and finished with 16 saves.

Boston’s Tim Thomas, who stopped 21 shots, said, ”The fourth win, they don’t give it to you, as we learned once again. Not that we were looking for them to give it to us. It’s just more proof that’s the way it goes.
