PHF calls off junior team European tour

KARACHI: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has cancelled its junior team’s European tour owing to over-age players, The Sports Encounter learnt early Thursday.

Sources in the PHF told TSE here that the over-age players were the main reason behind the tour calling-off, while the players who were eligible to play also didn’t have their documents completed.

Secretary PHF, Asif Bajwa while talking exclusively to TSE said that now junior hockey players would take on the senior team in three matches in Karachi and Whites team three other matches.

He further stated that the senior hockey team would face Spain in four Test Matches from July 10, 2010 to July 15, 2010. The main national team would also play two hockey test matches against Holland (Netherlands) on July 17th and 18th, he added.
