Iran clinch nail-biter against Pakistan in Kabaddi

GUANGZHOU: Iran came back strongly in second half to beat Pakistan by 17-16 in the first semi final of the kabaddi event in 16th Asian Games on Thursday.

Pakistan kabaddi team was unbeaten prior to semi-final as they won all three group matches in the competition.

Pakistan started off well and were leading the first half by 7-4 but failed to hold their nerves in the second half.

Iran, who lost to India in their group match, played well in the second half and took the second half by 13-9.

Iran will now face world champions India in the final tomorrow who faced no problems in beating Japan by 52-17 in the other semi-final.

Indian women kabaddi team will face Iranian women kabaddi team in the second semi-final later today.
