Rizwan, Kashif into Maldives Challenge final

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Rizwan Azam and Kashif Sulehri stormed into the finals of the Men Doubles event in the Maldives Challenge International Badminton Tournament here on Friday, The Sports Encounter has learnt.

In the semi finals, they edged past 3rd seed pair Gadi Antonio and Asuncion Kennevic of Philippine in a closely fought match with the score of 14-21, 21-11, 21-16. They will play Karunaratne Dinuka and Karunaratne Niluka of Sri Lanka in the final.

However, Wajid Ali lost his Quarter Final against the top seed, Koukal Peter of Check Republic, ranked 47th in the World, by 21-19, 21-16.
