Shin regains World No.1 golf position
DAYTONA BEACH: The fight for the best between the two female golfers Jiyai Shin and Cristie Kerr continues and this time the top apex position was secured by Jiyai Shin who once again passed her colleague hence reclaiming the world No. 1 position of women’s golf rankings.
According to the latest weekly rankings being circulated in the media on Monday, the top 10 positions saw a major reshuffling of positions, 8 players in the top 10 changed their places.
The current data revealed that Shin hailing from Korea secured the number one spot with a rankings point average of 10.86 while Kerr from US, now at number 2 has an average of 10.64.
Suzann Pettersen of Norway moved up to sit at third spot with an average of 10.52 and sent the previous third spot holder Miyazato of Japan to fourth place with an average of 10.50.
Choi No-yeon, the Hana Bank Champion, moved one spot up to fifth with a 10.38 average and caused Yani Tseng of Chinese Taipei to slip at sixth place with an average of 10.14.
American Michelle Wie and Korean Kim Song-hee maintained their seventh and eighth places, respectively. However the former tenth seed American Paula Creamer switched her place with Korean Kim In-kyung and secured ninth spot with an average of 7.35 whereas Kim In-kyung with an average of 7.22 is now at tenth place.
