Manisha Billiards, Snooker Championship: Rawat wins Jr Snooker title

PUNE: New Delhi’s Laxman Rawat scored two back to back wins and recorded better average in league matches to claim the junior snooker national title.

Varsha Sanjeev of Karnataka lifted sub junior billiards title at the Manisha Constructions National Billiards & Snooker Championship organized by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Maharashtra (BSAM) and played the PYC Hindu Gymkhana here Saturday.

Rawat scored a (4:1)  { 106(31,45*)-14, 69-61, 14-96(43*), 89-14, 68(47)-29 } win over top seeded Lalrina Rentheli in the first match

Rawat also put out statemate Lalit Dahiya (4:2) { 62(60)-23, 46-61, 98-8, 47-37, 44-54, 64-14 } in the second match.

Laxman Rawat who Won 2 matches , won a total of 11 Frames and lost 4 Frames to end with a average of 4 emerged the new champ

Himanshu Jain who also Won 2 matches but finished with an average of 1 finished second while dethroned champ Lalrina who also Won 2 Matches finished third with an average of 0

In the girls Sub-Junior Billiards Finals Current national champion Varsha Sanjeev of Karnataka beat Delhi’s Keerat Bhandal 165-116 to take the title.

In the semifinals Varsha outplayed local girl Arya Pimpale 191-87, While Bhandal potted out AP player I.Lahari Singapra 110-78;

Maharshtra’s Arun Agarwal and West Bengal’s Manish Jain qualified for the main draw of the Senior Billiards event which gets underway tomorrow.
