Argentina strikers were on fire today against the ordinary looking South Korean team as they managed to score 4 goals including brilliant hat-trick from Gonzalo Higuain. Argentina started off well in the first half and looked threatening as Messi and Tevez continued to find opening in Korean defence. Argentina scored the first goal in the 17th minute thanks mainly to South Korean defender Park Jung Young scored the own-goal when he deflected the cross of Tevez.

Argentina continued to increase the pressure on Asian side and managed to sneak the second goal in 33rd minute when Gonzalo Higuain scored his first and second goal of Argentina. However, Korea Republic players were trying their level best to reduce the deficit and they got success when Lee Chung-Yong scored the first and only goal for South Korea in 45th minute injury time.

Korea Republic started off the second half well but their forwards failed to convert the opportunities with some of them were much closed. Korea put the pressure on the Argentina till 75th minute but Argentina players found their rhythm as Gonzalo scored his second and third goal for Argentina in the 76th minute of the match. Gonzalo went on to complete his hat-trick when he scored the fourth goal of Argentina in 80th minute.

I hate to spoil your fun, but despite the media all talking about Argentina being the first team to qualify for the Round of 16, they have in fact yet to definitely qualify.

Take, for example, the following potential scenario for Tuesday Evening:

    Greece 3-0 Argentina
    S. Korea 3-0 Nigeria

This results in Greece, Argentina and S. Korea all ending up with 6 points, and Greece and S. Korea going through on Goal Difference.

It seems quite shocking that even the BBC have made this error!
