Berbatov upbeat on United unbeaten record
SOFIA, Bulgaria: Bulgarian striker of Manchester United, Dimitar Berbatov is fully confident that the Red Devils will win the Barclays English Premier League 2011 title by remaining unbeaten in the League.
He was talking in a Bulgarian television show here Sunday night. Berbatov said he was confident that his team can and will maintain the unbeaten record during the whole season.
“I remember Arsenal winning the title without losing a game and it was a tremendous run” Berbatov recalled.
“But I’m confident we can do it too. We know we have some difficult away matches but I believe we’re capable of finishing without a single defeat”, he added.
Berbatov turned 30 on Sunday and is having a fruitful stint with the Manchester United as he is the leading goal scorer in the English Premier League scoring 19 goals for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side.
Manchester United are comfortably leading the points table with 51 points from just 23 matches.
It is important to mention here that Dimitar Berbatov is the all-time leading goal scorer for the Bulgarian national soccer team.
“Things are going very well for me but I don’t think anything has changed in general. Maybe I’ve scored more goals because I’m playing a little bit forward”, he noted
“I feel comfortable with every United forward but our understanding with him (Rooney) is excellent,” Berbatov said.
Ending the interview on a funny note, Berbatov said, “I could have scored six or seven against Blackburn but I stopped because I didn’t want to make Alan Shearer and Andy Cole angry”.
