ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE: Rooney disappointed over FA ban

LONDON: The star Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is frustrated on the refusal of his appeal of suspension of two-match ban by The Football Association as it is certain now that he will miss the FA Cup semi final clash against Manchester City on April 16.

Rooney is the main striker of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Red Devils and The Football Association served two-match ban on Rooney when he burst a four letter word in front of the camera after he scored a goal against West Ham United on April 2.

Rooney scored the decisive goal against arch rival Chelsea in their Champions League first leg quarter final clash at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. The disappointed Rooney said, “I am gutted to miss two matches, one of which is an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. I am not the first player to have sworn on TV and I won’t be the last.”

“Unlike others who have been caught swearing on camera, I apologised immediately. And yet I am the only person banned for swearing. That doesn’t seem right. Whatever, I have to accept that what’s happened has happened and move on from here. That is what I intend to do,” Rooney added.
