Gallas may return as Gunners take on Spurs

LONDON: As William Gallas is expected to join ranks, the Arsenal would try to dethrone Chelsea from the top spot of the English Premier League (EPL) for few hours though when they will take on Tottenham Hotspurs in Saturday’s soccer action here.

The Gunners benefitted the most after the last week’s action, where all the top clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City wobbled and failed to keep up the pace in a season that has kept the English soccer fans guessing every week.

Arsenal now have 26 points, just two points shy of Chelsea, and if they defeat Spurs they can snatch the top spot from the Carlo Ancelotti’s side but for only few hours as their match is scheduled to start at 12:45 GMT while Chelsea would be playing Birmingham City at 1500 GMT.

It would be interesting to see how Gallas makes his way back into the Spurs fold as he is coming back after a long layoff and yet to win hearts and minds of some of the Spurs fans but this could be the perfect opportunity as he has got knowledge of some of the internal strengths of Arsenal.

Manchester United, who are due to host Wigan Athletic, would be looking to regain confidence after losing points against Aston Villa last week and to some experts they have got just the perfect opposition to do that as they defeated Wigan by 5-0 twice last season.

Manchester City would travel down to Fulham for the Sunday’s soccer action to regain their form.
