Manchester United to face Liverpool in FA Cup draw
OLD TRAFFORD: Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United will host arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford in January next year in the third round match of FA Cup.
Red Devils have won the FA Cup title record 11 times while The Reds won the honours on seven occasions. Manchester United and Liverpool have twice met in the finals of FA Cup and on both occasions, in 1977 and 1996, Manchester United were emerged as a winner.
Defending champions Chelsea will meet (division two) Ipswich Town in their third round tie while 10-times champions Arsenal will host Leeds United in their third round match.
The ties will be played on January 8-9 while the final will be played at Wembley stadium on May 14.
