The Manchester derby will enable the England soccer fans a great chance to witness best players in action ahead of the English Premier League 2011-12 season which kicks off on August 13.

Manchester City had defeated Manchester United in the FA Cup semifinal before eventually winning the title in May. The defeat had left United fans heart-broken and this is their chance to see how the Red Devils take their revenge. However, Manchester City have emerged as a strong force in the England soccer arena as they finished third in the EPL 2010-11 season behind champions Manchester United, who won their record 19th EPL title, and Chelsea.

Since winning the Wembley battle, Manchester City have added another super-star to their line-up as Argentinean Sergio Aguero has joined the ranks which would make their attack even more lethal.

Apart from signing the star striker, the Manchester City have also bolstered their defence by signing left-back Gael Clichy and central defender Stefan Savic.

The recent performance and signings have left Sir Alex Ferguson giving respect to the arch-rivals as he now ranks them alongside Chelsea as the title challengers.

Talking about the latest signing spree, Alex Ferguson told reporters, ”I expected more buying. Chelsea haven’t really been busy except with the manager, who will need time to adjust the squad he’s got. City have bought Gael Clichy and look as though they’re signing a few more. We expect a big challenge from those two.”

Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart, who also is the main England goalkeeper, told media, ”We are all looking forward to Sergio Aguero joining in. I haven’t seen much of him but the little we have seen in training has been exciting.”

Sergio Aguero is making his debut for Manchester City in just about the perfect circumstances as his side looks all set to challenge the EPL title holders.

”We first identified Phil Jones when he played for Blackburn’s youth team against us a couple of years ago when they beat us 3-0. He was absolutely magnificent,” Ferguson said adding, ”You might think he might not play, but the ability he’s got and the determination he’s got, he could quite easily play.”

Talking about Ashley Young, who the Manchester United purchased for 17 million pounds or 28 million US dollars, Ferguson said, ”Ashley can play in more than one position. But initially we’ll start him as a wide left player.”

Exciting season on the way, it is only a matter of time before Man City rule Europe, and I am not a supporter either.
    Thanks for the post.
