Red Devils on a roll on US tour

PHILADELPHIA: Manchester United continued to win matches in the North American tour on Wednesday when they defeated the Philadelphia Union by one goal to nil, but the game was a rather rusty one for the top English Premier League (EPL) club.

After a methodical victory against Celtic in Canada, Red Devils were made to work hard by the newest entry in the MLS at Lincoln Financial Field.

The sole goal of the match came in the 76th minute when Gabriel Obertan netted a pass by Danny Welbeck who intercepted a horrendous pass in the midfield.

Dimitar Berbatov had a narrow escape in the 80th minute when one of his shot hit the crossbar that told the whole story of a hard game against an aggressive Philadelphia unit.

Sir Alex Ferguson had good words of praise for the young Philadelphia team for its aggression. “It was the sort of game we needed. They were very good opponents”.
