UEFA Champions League: Red Devils look to contain Blues at Old Trafford

LONDON: The second leg of UEFA Champions League quarter final clash between arch rivals Manchester United and Chelsea will be played on Tuesday night at Old Trafford where Sir Alex Ferguson’s men look to contain Chelsea as they are enjoying the 1-0 away goal lead over Blues.

Manchester United vs Chelsea

The star Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney gave the all important advantage to Red Devils against Chelsea when they visited Chelsea on last Wednesday at Stamford Bridge where Rooney scored the decisive goal and gave his team 1-0 lead.

Sir Alex Ferguson isn’t ready to take this match lightly despite of having advantage over Chelsea and said that his team is fully focus for the big encounter against Chelsea and they are expecting a counter attack from Carlo Ancelotti’s men at Old Trafford.

“Our biggest advantage is Old Trafford — the fans will be fantastic and there will be an electric atmosphere. We’ve only got a one-goal lead and have to be very careful and give a top performance,” Ferguson said.

The odds are also favouring Manchester United as they didn’t lost a Champions League match at home in last six years and conceded only two goals in the competition this season.

Carlo Ancelotti is hoping that his side can repeat their performance of 2-1 against Manchester United which they displayed in the English Premier League clash last season at Old Trafford. Ancelotti is positive on his team chances but he also admitted that his side needs to improve and should capitalize the opportunities.

“We know it will be difficult to win there. But we have the confidence to do it. Last year we won at Old Trafford,” Ancelotti said.
