Manchester United is all set to end the year as chart leaders and draw against Birmingham on Tuesday doesn’t cost them too much. After goalless first half, Bulgarian player of the year and man in-form for Manchester United, Dimitar Berbatov scored the opening goal of the match in the 58th minute.
This was Berbatov’s 15th goal in the season which is the most by any player so far in the current season. Manchester City striker Tevez is on second place with 12 goals.

Lee Bowyer of Birmingham City, who scored the winning goal against defending champions Chelsea last month, again emerged as hero for the local team with his injury time goal in the 90th minute as Red Devils have to settle with one point but it was enough for them and they continued to lead the points table with 38 points in 18 matches while Manchester City placed on second spot in the points table with 38 points in 20 matches.
Manchester United are now unbeaten in 23 league matches and they have lost only two matches in 36 premier league matches in this calender year.

Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson was disappointed with late equalizer and said “I think its terribly harsh. I think we outplayed them in the second half and we didn’t deserve that. It’s a tight league, it’s a difficult place to come here and every team that comes here has a difficult game. I think we deserved to win the game.”
Alex McLeish, manager of Birmingham City was happy with his team performance and said “my players never fail to amaze me at times and again they have come up trumps. I felt we tamed United to a certain degree. They had a lot of possession but never really penetrated us.”
