Wolves halt Red Devils unbeaten run at EPL

LONDON: The chart leaders Manchester United suffered shock defeat on Saturday evening when they were beaten by the chart bottom Wolverhampton by 2-1.

This was the first defeat for Manchester United in their last 30 premier league matches as they were unbeaten in their last 29 premier league outings.

Nani scored the opening goal for Manchester United only in the third minute of the match but Sir Alex Ferguson’s Red Devils failed to keep the momentum and got relaxed which allowed the Wolves to make a comeback in the match.

George Elokobi scored the equalizer in the 10th minute which turned the match into very interesting affair. Wolverhampton surprised the English Premier League followers and shocked the United’s fans by scoring their second and decisive goal in the 39th minute of the match. The hero for Wolves was Kevin Doyle who scored the 41st goal of the record day of scoring goals in premier league matches.

The score was 2-1 in favour of Wolves at half time. Sir Alex Ferguson made crucial changes in the second half as he replaced Scholes with Carrick in the half time and also called Mexican striker Hernandez, who replaced Berbatov in the 65th minute of the match but they all failed to score the decisive goal for Manchester United as Wolves embarrassed them by 2-1.
