Federer wins record 6th World ATP Tour Finals title
LONDON: The living tennis legend Roger Federer of Switzerland defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in a tough match to clinch a record sixth year ending title at the World ATP Tour Finals at O2 Arena on Sunday.
The incredible Federer played like a champion and showed glimpses of his brilliant past on number of occasions as he outdid a great comeback by Tsonga to deny him the title by 6-3 6-7 (8-6) 6-3 in his 100th ATP final.
Roger Federer, 30, was playing in 100th ATP final, but he never looked like a tiring giant as he made Tsonga to run across the box in the first set eventually taking it 6-3.
However, the Frenchman bounced back strongly in the second set especially when Federer broke his serve for the second time in the match but the legendary boxer Mohammad Ali-look-alike used his serve to a great advantage and clinched the second set on a tie-break by 7-6 (8-6) after saving a match point.
The third set started with a great promise and for a moment it looked like a great battle but Federer stayed as cool as cucumber serving at 5-3 in the third set and eventually claimed the title in style.
