Waseem wins Sindh Amateur Golf title

KARACHI: Waseem Rana of Karachi came from behind in the final round to win the 10th Sindh Amateur Golf Tournament at the DHA Golf Club on Sunday.

 

 

 

Rana, who started the day with a triple bogey, was made to work hard during the whole day and he responded with two birdies to cut the deficit with the toppers and in the end win the title with a comfortable edge.

 

 

During the course, Waseem defeated the pre-tournament favourite, Mohammad Ali Hai of the Karachi Golf Club and Muhammad Rehman of Royal Palm Country Club of Lahore with scores of 72, 70 and 76 for a total of 218. Asadullah Khan of the DHA was the runner-up, while Ali Hai finished fifth with 70, 77, 75 (222).

 

The tournament was organised and sponsored by the Sindh Golf Association (SGA).

 

Brigadier (Retd) Ayaz Peer won the Sindh Seniors title with scores of 80, 82 while Asad I A Khan stood runner-up with scores of 83 and 83.

 

Mustafa Ghani of DHA Golf Club clinched the junior title beating Daniyal Asim-ul-Haq.
